Jesus said…
“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36 NKJV)
Heaven or Hell?
What happens to men and women when they die? Do people simply cease to exist as some people say, or is there life after death?
The Bible tells us that it is “appointed unto men once to die and after that the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). In Matthew 25, we read that when Jesus returns to earth He will sit on His judgment throne and separate the people of all nations into two groups. Those on His right will hear the words, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” Those on His left will hear the words, “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
This glimpse into the future makes what we do in this life a very important matter. Today is the day we must submit ourselves to Jesus, put our faith and trust in Him, and do the things He asks of us. None of us will escape this judgment. 2 Corinthians 5:10 says, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
In eternity, where will you be? Heaven or hell? I hope you will be with all of those on Jesus’ right hand because of the choices you made in this life. Heaven is a destination you cannot afford to miss.
Are trying to guilt me into believing or trying to scare the Hell out of me?
I am pretty sure Jesus did the opposite.
@Todd, Our purpose is to make you (and others) aware that you have a choice of destinies. If you read the gospels you will see that Jesus referred to hell more than heaven. However, just following Jesus so that you can avoid hell isn’t really the answer. Rather, follow Him because of what He has done for you, in appreciation, and the rest will work itself out.
Thank you for the encouraging billboards that we have seen as we travel from the mid west to the east coast on this Christmas Eve night!
What do I have to do to get to heaven? I pray everyday to the Lord and the holy saviour Jesus Christ! even read the bible to my family every day. Do I have to do more to make the Lord satisfied?
@Barbara: I’ll repeat the answer I gave to your other comment. Being ready to meet Jesus isn’t just a question of good works. The real question is: Have I submitted to Jesus, and allowed Him to take control of my life? Have I confessed my sins to Him and allowed Him to cleanse me of them? None of us can live a life good enough to merit going to heaven. Instead of constantly asking myself: Am I doing enough good things, I should ask, Am I serving Christ out of a genuine love and a desire to please Him. Too many of us are Christians for what we can get out of it, rather then for what we can do to serve Christ.
Why would the lord take someone so good, so young and so caring of others ?
If a person commits suside , will they go to Heaven or Hell?
God is a righteous judge. I don’t think that there is one definitive answer, but for a person to commit suicide because of problems they are facing or because they want to get revenge on someone is a very dubious proposition. I don’t think that God wants us to take that kind of a route. A person with mental difficulties who doesn’t realize what they are doing might be different, but if you can understand what I’m writing then I don’t think that applies to you. Depression is a very serious thing however. If you see a friend going down this road, please help them to find the help they need. And if you left this comment because you are contemplating something like this, then please call someone on our phone team. I want to go to heaven
I’ll leave the same reply here as a I did at the other site. Hopefully you’ll see one of them….
I think a lot of people would say that. But the question is, what are they doing to make it happen? I can say, “I want to visit my friends in London, England,” but unless I make some preparations it will never happen. Blessings on you as you make those preparations to be ready to go to heaven. If you have questions about that, leave another comment or call out toll free number 855-367-8788 [855 FOR TRUTH]. –LB
If I was married in the military by an officer over seas with no Church service can I get married again
It isn’t the service that makes a marriage, but the covenant you make with another person. Because of this the Bible tells us that only death can break a marriage. See Romans 7:1-3.
