Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)
“And as is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment;”
Every person on the face of the earth is daily moving closer to death. Yet most of us are so preoccupied with living, we give little thought to dying. But why should we think about dying? Won’t we just cease to exist and everything will be all right?
The Bible tells us someday the Lord Jesus Christ will return, and ALL who have died, both the holy and the unholy, will rise from the dead. What then?
The Holy Scriptures say we will ALL stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Jesus, the Son of God, will invite all who have received His cleansing and forgiveness into heaven, that glorious place He has prepared for the faithful. But those who have obstinately refused His cleansing power will spend eternity in hell, that place prepared for the devil and his fallen angels.
Today we are living in time, but after the resurrection we will live in eternity! Christ Jesus died so we can be freed from the gripping power and guilt of our sin.
Yes, ten out of ten will die. Ten out of ten will rise. Ten out of ten will stand before Christ at the judgment. And ten out of ten will live in eternity—either with Christ, or without Christ. Where will you spend eternity?
